Ikeys end Round 1 second on Log!

The Ikey Tigers ended Round 1 of their WP Super League season with an 8 try victory over neighbouring club Villagers.

The action went down on the Green Mile on Saturday afternoon, and saw two tries from Therlow 'Puppy' Pietersen (playing at centre) as well as debutant winger Richard Stuard. Ikey veteran JJ Gagiano joined them in the ranks of double trouble managing to get his two in a brief 20min appearance.

Paul Cohen on the wing score one Ikeys try as well as securing four conversions and a penalty for the home team, with Nick Holton adding the two other conversions.

The final score was an epic 55-20 to the Blue and White dream team that has had one of their best seasons ever for UCT. A post match celebration showed the silverwear already won only half way into season - including the Varsity Cup Trophy and the Intervarsity bling amongst others.

The Ikeys finish round one high up on the log - after this weeks fixtures only below Maties. Their next game will be on 30 July vs SK Walmers.
