Saturday 30 April is the Vodacom Cup quarter final meeting between Western Province and the Sharks XV, and what's most exciting is the number of Varsity Cup players in the squad!
Ikey Tigers in the 22 for tomorrow include Marcel Brache at fullback, Tim Whitehead at replacement centre and Hilton Lobberts at replacement forward. And as all rugby fans wait with baited breath to hear whether Stormers flyhalf Peter Grant will be announced fit enough for the Super XV game, having him rested this weekend would not be SUCH a bad thing from a UCT point of view. If Grant is not declared fit the various shuffle-ups will result in our own flyhalf extraordinaire Demetri Catrakilis making his debut for the Western Province Vodacom Cup team!
Catrakilis won the man of the match award in Ikeys victorious Varsity Cup final this month, and was also leading points scorer in the tournament with 136 points (16 from the final alone!).
