UCT Fencing competed in the KZN Open hosted by UKZN this past weekend.
Day one saw Michael Malahe finishing 3rd in the Men's Epee - losing 15-11 to former Olympian Sello Maduma. Giselle Vicatos then finished 2nd in the Women's Foil final.
On day two, Skye Pym-Siljuer finished 5th in the Senior Men's foil; with Giselle Vicatos earning top honours by winning GOLD in the Senior Women's Epee event, having to knock out the entire SA squad and a fencer from the USA on her road to victory!
Well done fencing! And to the rest of the universities we say, "en garde"!
